Hands down one of our main attractions at Charleston Fun Park is our go karts. If you’re under 16 it’s the closest you can get to the freedom of driving and if you’re over 16 it reminds you of being under 16 when your biggest problem was not being the teacher’s pet. This generation can’t think of a time when go karts didn’t exist, but in all actuality, go-karts have only been around since the 1950s.
The first go-kart
The first go kart was made by Californian, Art Ingels and was originally called the go-cart. The idea caught like wildfire and by the late 1950s an American company modified a 2-stroke chainsaw motor and the McCulloch MC-10 was born; it was the first go kart made specifically for racing.
Our go karts
Our go karts are sitting on the track ready to go. We’ve got single and double seaters waiting on YOU. Hop in the driver’s seat and race your friends and family or jump in the double’s seat while one person drives and the other person smack talk. Our track has loops and curves with a some lovely water fountains along the route (we could be a biased). Whatever your go kart style is, you’ll love our karts and track. Bring your favorites and hit the track!
Our go karts are just $7 a ride for a single or double kart. Get our Ultimate Pass and get 2 go kart rides, unlimited putt-putt, $10 in the arcade and a drink for $35!
