We are often asked, “how old do children need to be to ride in a go-kart?” At Charleston Fun Park, we strive to make sure everyone is safe and having a good time. That’s why we have to put some limitation and restrictions on our go-karts.
How Old do You Have to be to Ride a Go-Kart?
At Charleston Fun Park, kids that are at least 38 inches tall (regardless of age) can ride in a go-kart with a licensed driver who is at least 54 inches tall. This restriction is simply to make sure riders are the proper size for the safety harness and other safety measures to work properly. All kids grow at different rates, but the 38 inches guideline allows for many children of roughly 3 years old to ride. Remember though, riding is based on height, not age.
To drive a go-kart, anyone who is 54 inches or taller is allowed to drive. Individuals with a valid driver license who are also 54 inches or taller are allowed to have a rider in one of our double seaters.
Fun fact: You pay per car, not driver! This means that passengers in our two-seater go-karts ride at no additional cost!
Even if your little one is too small to ride on our go-karts, there’s still lots for them to do. Our arcade is fun for all ages, and we also offer mini bowling for guests 1 years old or older!
So bring the whole family down to enjoy our Charleston attractions, and make sure to check our specials for ways to save!
