Wear the Right Shoes
When your hands are gripping rocks and ledges tightly, your feet must be doing the same. With the right shoes, you will feel confident and have a solid grip to push off toward the next ledge. If you wear shoes that are too loose, too tight, or don’t have a good grip on the bottom, it will make climbing much more difficult.
Work Out Your Core
Climbing is an incredible exercise, as it uses your upper and lower body to navigate the wall. One of the main muscles it uses is your abdominal muscles. When your abs are toned and fit, wall climbing will be less difficult. You will be able to trust your instincts instead of focus completely on your muscle strength. We encourage you to exercise your core, arms, and legs, in order to master Charleston Fun Park’s 35’ climbing wall!
Plan Your Next Move
Wall climbing is all about looking to the top. By planning your next move and acting swiftly, you will gain momentum. If you stall out at a spot, your muscles may start to spasm or you may doubt your instincts. Always be planning your next move and study the wall before starting. As always, practice makes perfect!
